Mrs. Acosta-Castriz was born in Miami. She received a bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Oklahoma with honors and earned her law degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She started her career as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County and later successfully managed as a sole practitioner. For the past 20 years she has concentrated her practice exclusively to the field of Immigration and Nationality Law. Since 2014 she is a Partner at the firm Acosta & Fraga Law PLLC.  Throughout her distinguished career, she has demonstrated her commitment to being a leader in her profession, her community and numerous professional organizations. Some of her distinctions include current counsel to the Guatemalan Consulate, Board member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association – SF chapter (2018-present) serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (2015-2017), Past Chair of the Board of Directors for the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County (2017-2018 and current member of the executive board). President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Palm Beach County (2006), Co-chair of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association for South Florida Chapter, WPB liaison (2010-2014 and current liaison member), Member of the UPL committee for the 15th Judicial Circuit and  Former Traffic Hearing Officer for the 15th Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, (2011-2016). Past member of The Benjamin School, Board of Trustee. As a dedicated member of the Hispanic business community, she was crucial in the creation of the first Hispanic focus group for the North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce. She has provided unending support and countless pro-bono hours to charitable organizations such as the Legal Aid Society of PBC, The Guatemalan Maya Center and Bridges of Palm Beach, among others. She is the proud recipient of the Meritorious Public Service award, the 2017 Everyday Hero Award and the 2017 Community Leadership Award for her contributions and dedicated service towards promoting equity for Hispanic/Latino Students. In addition, she serves our community by being a frequent lecturer at universities, including FAU, high schools, non-profit organizations and the West Palm Beach and Lake Worth sheriff’s department’s outreach programs. Thanks to her esteemed reputation and experience, she has been called upon to be an expert witness within the Immigration Law field. In addition to managing a heavy caseload and volunteering in the above-mentioned capacities, Mrs. Acosta-Castriz’ most valued accomplishment was raising three children who have all excelled academically and professionally. She is currently a partner at Acosta & Fraga Law, PLLC a full-service boutique Immigration Law practice located in Lake Worth, Florida.
